Project 365
I’ve been putting off starting a Project 365 activity for a few years now, but this year, decided to take the plunge. For those who don’t know, the idea is that you take a shot per day for the project, every day, no cheating, and end the year with 365 shots. Some projects orient around a theme, others are completely open. For me, I’ve decided that I’d like to improve my compositional skills (in my own eyes, at least!) To remove the distraction of lenses, and off-camera lighting, I’m not using my regular camera, but am limiting myself to using nothing more than my iPhone, including any post-processing, and uploading of the shots to the interweb. How well it works remains to be seen…
The first few shots are starting to accumulate, and the ones I select for each day can be seen in this set on Flickr. Of course, there are others – I can’t be expected to get a 100% hit rate of great shots
, so you can see nearly all my iPhone shots through the year in this SmugMug album. I’m sure that some days, I’ll take nothing but junk (yesterday being a good example!) But, hopefully, I can create something throughout the year which results in me being slightly better at seeing a good shot, and might be a bit of fun in the process, as well as giving me a bizarre kind of record of the year. Only time will tell – 13 days down, 352 to go!
